Skiing Gangnesaksla Topptur peak was magnficent

Gangnesaksla ski tour, another Topptur peak.

Marvellous drive along fjords past ruins of a WW2 German U-boat base.

Hiked up to snow then skied up a narrow track to open ground. Some steep skinning to got us to a high point very close to the summit.

Strong cold winds when we started the descent.

Big mountain skiing on variable snow conditions was a joy. Deep soft snow, ice, and wind crust.

An excellent route for the last day of the superb Off Piste Performance Narvik trip.

Ski instruction on Narvikfjellet

Two days ski instruction with Alison and Andy on Narvikfjellet with some new techniques to improve balance, initiate turns, carve the skis and body position.

Its good to go back to basics, slow things down and focus on technique.

The Northern Lights across Narvik fjord

In the evening we did a Northern Lights tour from Narvik with Day Out Narvik.

Mattias drove us to a good location near the fjord and helped setup cameras.  The daylight is getting longer so the Aurora tours were nearly over.

The small fire was nice and the blackcurrant tea most welcome.

The lights appeared soon after we arrived. Take any chance you get to see them.
