C2C Rest day. Cycling up Luz Ardiden into the cloud

Cycled up to Luz Ardiden, a famous Tour de France climb up to a ski resort.  I took it very easy after yesterdays effort in the heat. I was passed by several riders, some of whom would be training for the Marmotte ride which is scheduled up the Col du Tourmalet in a few days.

It was cooler due to the cloud and no views at the top.  A few sheep with bells were wandering around.

Another fast descent. I stopped for a coffee on the terrace of Auberge les Bruyeres in the charming hillside village of Grust.

I bought a new cycling top and shorts and some energy gels from Ardiden Velos - they have a good range of clothing and cycling accessories and also hire out Bianch road bikes and mountain bikes. They provided us with great advices on weather conditions etc for the following 3,000m day.

We had a great grill dinner the Hotel Terminus where Greg and I were staying,
