Experienced kitesurfer accident at Breamlea

The dangers of kitesurfing in gusty wind conditions have been highlighted by Christelle Le Baccon's unfortunate accident at Breamlea on 13 September 2011.

Christelle was kitesurfing with a companion and was caught by a gust of wind and lofted while attempting to land her kite.  She was carried into a sand dune and suffered two broken lumbar verterbrae.

She is recovering in hospital.  I wish her a speedy recovery.

Christelle's advice to other kitesurfers is:

"Make sure there is enough room to land your kite and ensure you're doing it in a safe environment."

Thats so sad to hear about her accident. may she have a speedy recovery and get back to kitesurfing as soon as possible. All kitesurfers must follow the lines by her so no more face similar accident.
