Christelle was kitesurfing with a companion and was caught by a gust of wind and lofted while attempting to land her kite. She was carried into a sand dune and suffered two broken lumbar verterbrae.
She is recovering in hospital. I wish her a speedy recovery.
Christelle's advice to other kitesurfers is:
"Make sure there is enough room to land your kite and ensure you're doing it in a safe environment."
