Ryten - Lofoten Islands ski day 5

Poor weather, including rain, and a very high avalanche danger forecast on Thursday required some careful route selection by James, George and Alison.  We drove past Flakstad, where some keen surfers were catching waves to start the route for Ryten.

Navigation was tricky in whiteout conditions We got to the summits (there are two) but didn't see the views.  The run down was easy angle in soft wet snow.   We lucky to avoid the rain that was falling in many other locations across the islands.

The view from the summit includes Kvalvika beach which is only accessible by boat or on foot.  I will have to see it next visit . . .

We stopped for a nice coffee at Cafe Frissgarden on the drive back.
